What is machinery sales support?
Selling a machine within the EU involves meeting specific formal, legal, and technical requirements. GCB’s role is to independently assess whether a machine complies with applicable legislation, including the Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC and the new Regulation (EU) 2023/1230 (depending on the date the machine is placed on the market).
We verify the completeness of technical documentation, conduct risk analyses, and evaluate conformity with relevant harmonized standards. Where applicable, we issue technical opinions or voluntary certificates of conformity to support the sales process.
What does the assessment process involve?
The process includes:
- Independent technical assessment of the machine,
- Review of the documentation: EU declaration of conformity, instructions, schematics, test reports,
- Verification of compliance with EU directives and regulations,
- Risk assessment of machine use and operation,
- Preparation or validation of CE-compliant documentation (if required),
- Evaluation of modifications to determine whether a significant design change has occurred, which may require re-assessment.
Who is it for?
