Introduction to Quality Management System Certification
To meet the requirements of the cosmetics industry, GCB provides independent certification services for quality management systems in accordance with the ISO 22716 standard. In line with Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009 and the Polish Cosmetics Act, cosmetic manufacturers are required to apply Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and maintain appropriate documentation for regulatory inspection when requested by competent authorities.
Certification is a key element for organizations seeking to confirm their commitment to high standards of quality and safety, as well as their compliance with applicable legislation. It also contributes to increased trust among consumers and business partners.
ISO 22716 – Cosmetics – Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
ISO 22716 is a globally recognized GMP standard specifically designed for the cosmetics industry. It outlines best practices across production, infrastructure, quality control, warehousing, and transportation. The standard can be implemented by any organization in the cosmetics sector, regardless of size or complexity.
Compliance with ISO 22716 is expected of all entities involved in the manufacture, quality control, storage, or distribution of cosmetic products. Importers and distributors operating within the EU are also required to ensure that cosmetic products they place on the market are manufactured in accordance with these guidelines.
Additionally, ISO 22716 can be effectively integrated with other standards, such as ISO 9001, to create a robust and unified quality management system. Certification under ISO 22716 allows companies to demonstrate compliance throughout the entire supply chain and provides a recognized assurance of quality and safety.
Through its independent certification services, GCB enables manufacturers and distributors to verify the compliance of their quality management systems with ISO 22716. This provides an authoritative confirmation of both legal and quality assurance conformity.
